Accessibility Statement

Effective date: October 27, 2026 Last reviewed: October 27, 2026

Yaguchi International Law Firm PLLC (“the firm,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to making its website, yaguchilaw.com (the “Site”), accessible to people with disabilities. We want every visitor, including those who rely on assistive technology, to be able to read our content and contact the firm. This statement describes the standard we follow, what we have done, the limitations we know about, and how to reach us if you encounter a barrier.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the benchmark referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice in guidance under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), by Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act, and by the European standard EN 301 549.

Current status: partial conformance. We evaluate the Site against WCAG 2.1 Level AA using automated testing (Deque axe-core and pa11y) together with manual review of keyboard operation, focus order, and screen-reader behavior on representative page templates. We have remediated the issues identified in our most recent review. We have not yet commissioned an independent third-party audit with full manual testing of every page, so we describe our conformance as partial. Our most recent self-assessment was completed on October 27, 2026.

Accessibility Features

The Site is designed and built with the following practices:

  • Semantic structure. Pages use real headings, lists, and landmark regions (header, navigation, main, and footer) so assistive technology can move through the structure.
  • Keyboard access. All interactive elements, including the navigation menu, the language switcher, the home-page slideshow controls, and the contact form, can be operated with a keyboard alone. A “Skip to content” link appears when you press Tab.
  • Visible focus. A clear outline shows which element currently has keyboard focus.
  • Color contrast. Text and meaningful interface elements meet the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios: at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and user-interface components.
  • Resizable text. The layout uses relative units and supports browser zoom to 200% without loss of content or function.
  • Reduced motion. When your operating system requests reduced motion, animations are disabled and the home-page slideshow does not advance on its own.
  • Slideshow controls. The home-page slideshow has a pause control and also pauses on hover and on keyboard focus. The previous, next, and slide buttons are keyboard-operable and labeled.
  • Labeled forms. Every form field has a visible, associated label, and status messages are announced to assistive technology.
  • Bilingual markup. Each page declares its language, English or Japanese, so screen readers use the correct pronunciation.
  • Text alternatives. Meaningful images carry descriptive alternative text, and decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.

A Note on Privacy

The Site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and loads no third-party tracking scripts. You can read our content and contact the firm without being tracked.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some content may still present barriers. We are aware of, and are working on, the following:

  • Imported archive content. Some older articles were carried over from the firm’s prior website and may contain images with imperfect alternative text, or links whose wording is not fully descriptive. We correct these as we review each article. Please tell us if a specific page creates a barrier and we will prioritize it.
  • Downloadable documents. Any PDF or other downloadable document, where present, may not be fully tagged for accessibility. We will provide the same information in an accessible format on request.
  • Japanese-language pages. Some Japanese pages are provisional translations under review. The content and layout remain accessible; if a translation is unclear, please contact us and we will assist.
  • Third-party sites. Links to government, court, or other external websites are outside our control and may not meet WCAG 2.1 AA.

Assistive Technologies and Browsers

The Site is designed to work with current versions of widely used assistive technologies, including the NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), and TalkBack (Android) screen readers, speech-recognition software, operating-system reduced-motion and high-contrast settings, and browser zoom to 200%. We test primarily with recent versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.

Feedback and Requests

We welcome your feedback. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, need information in an alternative format, or want to report a problem, please contact us:

Yaguchi International Law Firm PLLC 1700 7th Ave, Suite 2100 Seattle, WA 98101-1360 Phone: (206) 686-3453 Email: [email protected]

When you contact us, it helps to include:

  • a description of the problem,
  • the page address (URL) where you encountered it,
  • the browser and any assistive technology you were using, and
  • how we can reach you.

We try to respond to accessibility feedback within five business days. Where an immediate fix is not possible, we will work with you to provide the information or service you need through another channel. Contacting the firm about an accessibility matter does not create an attorney-client relationship.

Formal Complaints

If you have raised a concern with us and are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division at civilrights.justice.gov.

Ongoing Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time project. We re-review the Site after any significant design or content change, and at least once a year, against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The dates above reflect our most recent review.
